About us briefly
Forward Thinking
Pioneers Pathways was created to bridge this gap and to provide a scalable, accessible, and transformative solution. As a non-profit, non-formal talent development organisation based in Zimbabwe, Pioneers Pathways exists to empower young Africans with world-class digital and professional skills through curated content, guided mentorship, and values-driven personal development. We bring together learners from diverse backgrounds onto a single platform where they can learn for free or at very low cost—removing financial barriers that have historically excluded thousands from accessing life-changing training.
How We Drive Change
- Skills Acceleration Pathway
- Industry Transformation Pathway
- Community & Systems Transformation Pathway
We drive change by equipping African youth and professionals with practical digital and professional skills that match industry needs. Through psychometric testing, curated e-learning, proctored certification exams, and specialised Schools in Mining, Agriculture, Transport, Food, Climate and Health, we develop talent that is industry-ready, confident, and capable of driving innovation. Our blended model—online learning plus optional physical training hubs—ensures access for all, regardless of background. By providing globally recognised certifications and affordable pathways, we close the digital skills gap, unlock employability, and empower learners to compete in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven African economy.
We drive change by directly supporting industry sectors to digitalise, automate, and modernise their operations. Through partnerships with mining houses, agribusinesses, logistics firms, hospitals, and food manufacturers, we offer targeted upskilling programs mapped to real operational needs. Our Schools provide industry-specific digital skills, compliance training, safety certifications, software mastery, and data-driven competencies. Corporates access a trusted talent pipeline, affordable training hubs, and SaaS-powered competency tracking tools. By enabling organisations to adopt technology, enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve sustainability, we strengthen entire value chains and improve Africa’s competitiveness in global markets.
Remote Learning Model (RLM)
- Learn From Anywhere
- Curated Digital Curriculum
- Proctored Exams & Certification
- Mentorship & Live Support
Our remote learning model removes all geographic and physical barriers by allowing learners to access high-quality digital and professional skills training from anywhere in Zimbabwe or across Africa. Whether you are in a city, township, mine compound, farm, or rural village, all you need is a smartphone or basic internet connection to participate. This flexibility empowers students who cannot afford transport or accommodation costs, and it supports working professionals who need to learn at their own pace. By decentralising access to opportunity, we ensure that no learner is left behind because of their location or circumstance.
We design and deliver structured, industry-aligned online courses that combine expert-developed lessons, interactive modules, video tutorials, practical projects, and real-world case studies. Every piece of content is carefully selected to ensure learners gain the exact skills demanded in sectors like mining, agriculture, health, transport, climate, and food systems. Our approach blends technical learning with problem-solving, digital literacy, and professional growth, ensuring students build both competence and confidence. By offering specialised Schools of learning, we create an environment where learners can build deep, career-ready expertise from the comfort of their homes.
Our certification process is conducted through secure, remotely proctored exams that ensure all assessments maintain credibility, fairness, and academic integrity. Learners complete exams online under monitored conditions, allowing us to verify identity and uphold rigorous standards. Successful students earn industry-recognised certificates that validate their skills to employers and institutions across Africa. These certificates are mapped to international digital competencies and sector-specific needs, making graduates more competitive in the job market. This process ensures that remote learning does not compromise the value or authenticity of the qualifications awarded.
To support every learner’s success, we provide continuous guidance through scheduled mentorship sessions, live virtual classes, community discussion forums, and personalised coaching. Our mentors are industry practitioners, educators, and trained facilitators who offer academic, technical, and career support throughout the learning journey. Learners can ask questions, receive feedback, share challenges, and gain motivation from peers and mentors. This human-centred approach ensures remote learning feels connected and interactive, not isolating. By combining technology with strong mentorship, we help every learner build resilience, discipline, and the confidence needed to excel both during and after their training.
Digital Citizenship Program
Learn. Protect. Thrive Online.
Digicit or eCitizen is a national digital citizenship program created to help Zimbabweans confidently navigate the digital world in a safe, responsible, and meaningful way. As technology becomes part of everyday life—how we learn, work, communicate, and do business—there is a growing need for citizens who are not only digitally skilled, but also ethically grounded and culturally aware.
The program brings together digital literacy, online safety, and Zimbabwean heritage, guiding learners to use technology responsibly while upholding the values of Hunhu/Ubuntu. Digicit empowers individuals to protect themselves online, respect others in digital spaces, and make informed decisions in an increasingly connected society.
Delivered through a user-friendly online learning platform, Digicit is accessible to youth, adults, educators, and communities across the country. Whether you are a student, parent, entrepreneur, teacher, or community leader, the program equips you with practical skills, legal awareness, and cultural insight to learn, protect yourself, and thrive online.
eCitizen Zimbabwe is free to access for learners across the country. Our goal is to ensure that every Zimbabwean, regardless of background or location, can benefit from essential digital citizenship and digital literacy skills. In some cases, optional paid services such as printed certificates, advanced workshops, or partner-led sessions may be offered, but the core learning program remains accessible at no cost.
This section focuses on practical digital skills needed for daily life. Learners gain confidence in using devices, navigating the internet, communicating online, and accessing digital services. The goal is to ensure every Zimbabwean can use technology effectively, confidently, and independently.
Staying safe online is essential. This section teaches learners how to protect themselves from scams, cyberbullying, identity theft, misinformation, and online abuse. It also introduces basic awareness of Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act, helping learners understand their legal protections online.
Technology should strengthen—not erase—our identity. This section explores how Zimbabwean culture, languages, and values can be preserved and promoted online. Learners are guided on practicing Hunhu/Ubuntu in digital spaces, respecting others, and sharing cultural content responsibly.
Beyond safety and skills, this section focuses on opportunity. Learners discover how digital platforms can support education, entrepreneurship, creativity, civic engagement, and employment. The aim is to help Zimbabweans use technology to grow, innovate, and improve their livelihoods.
Joining eCitizen Zimbabwe is simple and fully online. Learners can register through the website using a mobile phone, tablet, or computer. Once registered, you gain immediate access to the learning platform and can begin your first module right away. No prior technical experience is required—just a willingness to learn and grow.
The program is self-paced, allowing learners to progress at a speed that suits their schedule. On average, most learners complete the full 13-module curriculum within 8 to 12 weeks, spending a few hours per week. You can pause, return, and continue learning at any time, making it ideal for students, working adults, and community members.
Yes. Learners who successfully complete all required modules and assessments will receive a digicit Certificate. This certificate demonstrates your commitment to responsible digital citizenship and can be shared with schools, employers, or community organisations. Sponsored cohorts may also receive co-branded certificates recognised by partner institutions.
